A downloadable game

A solo journaling game where you are the receptionist at your local Adventurer's Guild. Through the characters you meet, whether they be adventurers, locals or visitors from other cities, you slowly start to build up the world your character lives in.

Card based prompts

Each day you can draw a number of prompt cards that represent who you interact with during your shift.

As you reveal your prompt, consider how your character would deal with the situation. The prompts are quite open, so you can choose whether or not the character described is someone you've never met before, or perhaps they are a local you're quite close with. You can then journal how you go about resolving the prompt or if it's part of a bigger mystery you might need more than one day to unravel.

World building from a single perspective

Each prompt brings the opportunity of expanding the world your character lives in. Any setting should be viable, so long as it has something like a job centre that brings people to you. You can also choose to change the type of store you run, perhaps it's a bakery or general store instead of a guild.

As you interact with people, they start bringing you stories or rumours of what is happening beyond the walls of your shop. Was a new crime reported? Perhaps a resurgence of monsters from an area thought to be safe? Are they a traveller from another country, worried about political affairs?

Going Beyond

I would love to think as you start building this character and their corner of the world, the story will start to write itself. You might start having prompts that have a wonderful synergy that links them together to create a narrative thread that you want to follow further. You may choose to skip drawing prompts because you have some previous ones that you want to explore further. There is no penalty if you decide to do that! The game and the world you build are here to get you excited about what could happen next.
